The Gold One Modder East Operation bursary is open to students in the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (Gauteng) pursuing degrees in the following fields:

What the Gold One Bursary Covers
The bursary provides cover for:
• Tuition fees
• Examination fees
• Prescribed textbooks
• University-administered accommodation for full-time students
Please note that private accommodation, laptops, data, meals, transport, short courses, and stipends are not covered.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered, you must:
• Be a South African citizen residing within the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality’s designated wards.
• Have completed Matric or be currently in Matric.
• Be enrolled or registered for study in one of the listed fields in 2025 at a recognized South African tertiary institution.
• If in Matric, have at least 60% in your June exam results; if currently studying, maintain at least 60% in your major subjects.
• Demonstrate financial need.
• Preference will be given to candidates from mine-hosting communities (Springs, Benoni, Brakpan, Nigel, and related townships).
