The Cyril Ramaphosa Education Trust (CRET) Bursary Programme was established by the Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation, an independent non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of South African youth through education and enterprise development. Since its inception in 1996, when President Cyril Ramaphosa began funding disadvantaged students from his public speaking earnings, the Foundation has been committed to creating opportunities for those who need them most. What the CRET Bursary Programme Covers

The CRET bursary provides comprehensive support to ensure you can focus on your studies:

Eligibility Criteria

  • Age: Between 16 and 27 years old.
  • Education: Currently in Matric or have completed Matric.

  • Institution: Applied or registered at a recognized and accredited South African tertiary institution—University, University of Technology, TVET College, or other recognized learning institution.
  • Financial Need: Total household income of NOT more than R650,000 per annum.
