What the Bursary Covers

Your Commitment to Cape Gate
As a bursary recipient, you’ll be part of the Cape Gate family and expected to:
- Vacation Work: Participate in paid vacation work during December and January holidays, gaining valuable industry experience.
- Post-Graduation Employment: Work for Cape Gate after graduation for a period equal to the bursary funding received. This employment is at market rates and at the company’s discretion.
If you choose not to fulfill this obligation, you will need to reimburse Cape Gate for all funds received, plus interest.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the Cape Gate Bursary South Africa, you must meet the following requirements:
- Citizenship: South African citizen.
- Education: Completed Matric and entering your 2nd year of full-time study in 2025.
- Field of Study: Pursuing a BEng in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering.
- Institution: Enrolled at a recognized and accredited South African university (Check out University bursaries).
- Academic Performance: Strong academic record with exceptional results in Matric and your first year.
- Financial Need: Demonstrated financial need.
- Other Funding: Not receiving any other financial assistance or bursaries.
