What the Department of Tourism Bursary Covers

The Department of Tourism bursary provides financial support to help you focus on your studies:

Note: Bursary recipients may be required to enter into a contractual obligation with the department.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the Department of Tourism Bursary South Africa 2025, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Citizenship: South African citizen.
  • Education: Completed Matric.
  • Field of Study: Studying full-time towards an Undergraduate or Postgraduate qualification in one of the fields listed above.

  • Employment Status: Not employed by the Department of Tourism.

Step 2: Prepare Your Documents

Submit clear, certified copies (less than 3 months old) of the following:

  • ID Document
  • Matric Certificate
  • Most Recent Academic Records/Transcripts
  • Proof of Registration at a tertiary institution
  • Proof of Household Income (parents’ or guardians’ latest payslips, affidavit if unemployed, proof of SASSA grant or pension)

  • Research Proposal (Honours and Masters students)

Step 3: Submit Your Application
